Golf Del Sur was built during the mid eighties and opened as three nine hole courses, the South, North and Links in late 1987.
The original concept of the promoters was for a course where only property owners and the Urbanisation of Golf Del Sur could become members and only members and their invited guests could play the course.
The dip in the economy in the late 1980’s and the financial problems that resulted for the promoters, precipitated a change in policy.
Annual Membership was still only available to property owners on the Golf but the course was opened to to guests of members, residents of the Golf and casual visitors on a pay and play basis.
The Members Club was formed in 1987 to represent the interests of the Members and to run competitions, in particular a weekly Saturday competition, which is open to Members, guests and visitors.
A formal Constitution and Rules was adopted in 1990.
It has survived three changes in ownership of the course and several different management companies.
Gof Del Sur has hosted The European Tour several times in the early 1990’s and, currently, the Ladies Tour on a rotation basis.
The Club has a Committee consisting of Captain, Vice Captain, immediate Past Captain, Secretary, Treasurer, Handicap Secretary, Lady Captain and a Committee member.
Our handicaps are regulated by CONGU which uses standard scratch for each competition.
There are now several different levels of membership available through Aymerich to suit different golfer’s requirements
We pride ourselves on giving a warm welcome to guests and visitors. New members are most welcome.
